How come we are hearing suddenly about food crisis and higher prices?

You got me. I’m wondering the same thing myself? I haven’t missed any meals. In fact, I don’t know anyone who has.

Yes rather sudden isnt it…..Its all down to richer Countries becoming poorer and poorer countries becoming richer.! Either that or Countries with civil wars are creating imbalance.

Maybe if the food companies do what the oil companies do and manipulate supply and demand to drive prices higher, they will reap the same kind of profits?

two reasons:

a) rice, wheat, & corn — all staple foods in poorer countries had fairly low production yields in the past year, causing a shortage, and higher prices for all three

b) oil prices continue to go up, it costs a lot more to ship everything including food, so prices will rise as a result

in all honestly i don’t really know how this will affect anyone who isn’t dirt poor or in a third world country but we’ll see

If you have been watching the financial markets, including commodities, you have watched this problem growing for the past 6 years. And people have been grumbling at the grocery store for at least the past 3 years. It is only when the increases become dramatic that people (including the mainstream press, as opposed to markets reporters) start to notice and check things out. Also, the food riots over the past year brought it to the attention of international reporters & foreign correspondents. As this becomes more widespread, people finally take note of what has been going and getting worse & worse for years.

Another factor: most Americans pay little attention to international news or world events. They are very much caught up in their own little local day-to-day dramas and pay little attention to anything else. Even those with a college education tend to pay less attention than, say, Europeans of comparable educational level.

Also, Americans tend to think this is a big country and what happens elsewhere has little impact on the US — but this is a patently false assumption as everything interconnects and has to affect us sooner or later.

Once a couple of people jump on the story, the significance finally starts to sink in, and the mainstream press jump all over it. Then the “man in the street” finally “gets it”.

Here is how I understand this problem. For many years now the environmentalists have been insisting that ethanol used as gas would cut down on pollution. When they started this push corn and a grass that they use to make ethanol were cheap. But oil companies bid up the price of corn and more and more farmers started growing corn and that grass for ethanol. The federal government pays farmers to let part of their land lie fallow. Instead of growing food farmers grew corn because it paid better now there is not enough in some parts of the world but worse the parts of the world that still have enough for their own populations don’t have enough to export to other less well off parts of the world. The price of ethanol continues to climb and they have found that it really doesn’t help pollution because you get fewer miles per gallon with ethanol than you do with just gas. Now you have the result of listening to people with just one agenda and they haven’t done the research to find out the consequences of their own actions.

It’s just the anti America propaganda machine we call the mass media. Not a big deal. Just lies and exaggerations as usual. Our so called news media has become a giant National Enquirer. Journalism has died.

the information has been out there for some time from the wheat rust blight in Africa to the decline of the bee population
and the switch of corn to ethanol instead of food the rise of petroleum costing farmers much more to put in a crop and also the cost of herbicides, fertilizer, and pesticides all oil based products making the use of these products almost impossible to afford. coupled with late freezes, drought, floods, and various other acts of nature have put pressure on the population as a whole and finally the chickens have come to roost (speaking of roosting the bird flu scare has killed millions of chickens to keep the spread down, and how many beef recalls can you count in the U.S. alone It was out there the information that is but the MEDIA only deals in sensationalism see no calamities until now

It has been a long time coming and an articulate plan. USA sold ALL of it’s surplus to the Catholic Church several years ago.

Monsanto started Frankenstein’s monster some years ago when they wanted the monopoly on seed. Due to farmers being suckered into using grains that will grow in Roundup soaked soil that kills off the micro organisms that break down the soil into minerals and such, not using cow manure and such - just throwing radioactive material labled as fertilizers … plants stopped growing in dead soil.

Answer to that - more genetically engineered seed … now we are faced with global warming and dead soil, dead soil inviting in new diseases that are already running rampant and wiping out entire crops. Wheat crop for this winter is already estimated at 80% crop FAILURE …

News has shown this for several years and made warning; but, as long as people can go to the grocery store and buy what they want - they don’t seem to hear that there is a major famine in the making. It is like selective hearing - when there is no food left … everyone will have their belly screaming at them … “YO … WHY YOU NOT BEEN LISTENING - NOW SEE WHERE YOU GOT US???”

If you were smart - you would get some extra things and not tell your neighbor. Your neighbor may think that your son or daughter would taste just fine with some of your rice and dehydrated carrots. Don’t believe me … maybe you should read Deuteronomy chapter 28 … the whole chapter deals with what is going on today - in detail.

The condensed version of Deuteronomy 28 can be seen in Isaiah 24:1-6 … just leaves out the part of people eating their own children for want of food and of course, the end result of the nuclear war is shown clearly in Isaiah 24:1-6, Deut 28 though shows it in detail - even with the rain in that day being of dust (fall out) that comes down upon your heads until you are destroyed …

So - if you read Deuteronomy 28, you will see the message has been there for thousands of YEARS … it is really not a new thing - and you can rest assured … if you read Matthew chapter 24, you will see that this time that is coming WILL BE WORST THAN ANY OTHER TIME KNOWN TO MAN …

Question for you now - what will you do? I have been taking heed of this for over 20 years … my children will not become pot roasts. Be amazed what a bucket of wheat and a hand grinder can do for your health … with a touch of water and some oil to fry it in …
