What happens if armed police shout at a deaf railway passenger to stop?

Poo Poo asked: suppose that unfortunate passenger who was suspected of being something other than an innocent rail passenger at Bournemouth station, had been deaf. Would he have been shot then for not obeying instructions to get down on the floor? Is there a contingency for this sort of thing?

I think, they only fire like fake bullets then if the person looks like they could do serious harm to others or even themselves then the armed police take action….. I only think though,,.

That’s a very interesting question. I guess they would have shot him. I don’t know what else they could do though, cause they’ve no immediate way of knowing the person is deaf

The poice would shoot them. It has happened before where the police have mistakenly shot a deaf person for not obeying a command they shouted.

They would probably shoot him, but he would not hear the bang.

He would be shot, and killed then the police would be soooo sorry blah blah blah, and nothing would be done about it.

Shoot first, ask questions later. The shot would have only “Winged” that person. Besides, the police normally only shoot if they have good reason to. Deaf people do commit crimes.

Well If this person saw other people lying down on the ground , then the deaf person would more than likely follow suit & lie on the ground also.
Deaf people are just that deaf, they are not mentally handicapped.
tsk.tsk shame on you for asking imbicilic questions

Of course they have contingency plans. They would only shoot if the person was armed and likely to injure others.

Surely if a deaf person had a gun pointed at them by armed police the least he would do is put his hands up. Deaf people might not be able to hear nut they arnt dumb
