Anyways I’m trying to plan for my future. Not something most 16 year olds do. I’m not sure exactly what branch, but I’m definatly insterested in the medical field. What courses would you reccomend I take in high school to demonstarte I have an interest in medicine? Anatomy, enviromental science, and so on.

Thanks in advance.

Well you should take the cores to Calculus if they have it, AP Chemistry AP Physics, Honors biology

Yu might also want to work voullenter at a lab or hospital or nursing home and have them write a letter when you finish to include it with your college application.

Once in college you might want to find biology or bio chemistry research programs to get into even if you just clean equipment and keep notes. Again get a letter from the head researcher or even better get listed on their main paper

You take every science and math course that your school offers, a second language and every honors course you can worm your way into. Work your behind off and get A’s. This really won’t help you get into medical school but it will teach you some of the basic study skills that you are going to need if you make it into medical school.

see if your school has career pathway that would help you but if they dont, find the college that you want to go to and find out what classes you would need for that school

You’d definitely want to take Anatomy & Physiology and any other advanced biology courses your school offers. Chemistry is good, too, since a knowledge of it is required for some of medical school. Any advanced or AP science courses would be good, especially lab courses.

If your school offers Latin, that would be an excellent choice since it would help you to understand more of the medical terminology.

You might also consider looking into volunteering at a hospital or nursing home or some other medical facility. You’d probably get stuck doing a lot of dirty work, but it would definitely show an interest in medicine. (And it would help you to meet people in the field. Getting to know people in the field and getting letters of recommendation from them can help a lot in getting into medical school and in getting a job later on.)
