My husband had high blood pressure which is now under control. When we were quoted health insurance,contingent on a physical, we were very impressed. However, they came back with a 80% rate increase because of the previous condition of high blood. We declined that offer and are looking elsewhere. Try ehealthinsurance.com

Unfortunately you are like many other Americans that cannot get health insurance because of pre-existing conditions. Best to go to an independant agent. They will be able to tell you how far back the underwriting will require your medical records. Usually, it’s 5-10 years. If you have not been treated in that time frame and your records reflect that, you should be fine. It is doubtful that a letter from your doctor would be very helpful.
