I’m sorry, I don’t, but you could try asking the Yahoo Answers folk.

Funny you should ask.

I had my first experience with mass for the hearing impaired on June 9th. We had our first African and Deaf priest ordained.

Apparently we have quite a few deaf priests. But Fr. Paul is the first who is also African. It was odd watching the media coverage as they tried to be “PC” and kept refering to him as African American. He’s from Uganda. He’s just African!

It was really cool. They had a translator stand in front of the section of the cathedral where all the deaf people sat. Then after his ordination, when Fr. Paul participated in consecration of the host, there was a priest just to one side of the altar who translated for him what the bishop was saying. When it came time for Fr. Paul to say his portion of the mass (each newly ordained says a part) he did it in sign and the priest by the side spoke into a mic telling us all what was said.

Here’s a little bit:

Here is Fr. Paul’s photo:

Hi,

There are many Christian Deaf churches.

In the area where you live you might find an Assemblies of God church with a Deaf ministry (USA) or Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada Deaf church. (CDN). Check the links I sent.

Check the web sites.
