Google Checkout: In-depth Review
Google’s service named Checkout was supposed to be the rival to Paypal. However, it quickly sank to the bottom of everyone’s radar- and became somewhat of a failure.
But why shouldn’t you use Checkout? For one, there is a delay in processing payments. While some seem to think this is reasonable- the delays can last up to a few days. Cancelled orders are another problem among the service. Items that appear ‘in stock’ on websites can sell out, and the delays will make your order cancel- a frustrating experience.
Getting refunds can be quite difficult- and the promotion they offered for a free $10 to use the service was not given to everyone. Probably the best reason to not use this service is the lack of support- you can not email or contact Google an get support on the service. Not to mention, you can not use eBay with checkout- a huge blow to Google’s popularity of the service.
Overall, Paypal does what Google has with Checkout- only much better and with more features. If you are looking for a payment processor, leave Checkout in the dust, and save yourself the time, effort, and money you can potentially lose from using the service.
