I am going to be getting lasik in about two weeks, the thing is that I have a job that requires me to be on the computer for long periods of time (I hate it) I was wondering if after lasik, being on the comp for so much can mess the lasik up or something. Also, is there a certain amount of time when I get the lasik I should wait on being in the computer? I am getting it done on a Friday evening and I’m going back to work on Monday. I just don’t want the lasik to go to waste, links to that type of information would be helpful also!!
Thanks for the help!

I got it done almost 4 years ago, and they do suggest you wait until you are done school since you don’t stress your eyes by studying, I had just graduated University. I would wait at least a week until I would go back to a full time computer job, or ask your employer if you can do other things during the day as well so you’re not focused on the computer 24/7. The best person to ask is the doctor preforming the lasik. It won’t ruin the lasik, but it could slow you’re process, casue each day you see better and better…congrat son making the decision to get it done, it’s the best!

I found this for you:

Immediate or Short Term Care –
1. Care should be taken to avoid rubbing the eyes if irritation occurs in order not to dislodge the corneal flap

2. If severe pain is experienced or if the vision does not improve, a doctor must be consulted immediately

Long Term Care -
1. Avoid using contact lens

2. Periodical consultations and eye examinations are necessaryI would agree, ask the dr the day of.

Nothing about not looking at a computer screen. Or taking a week off. I had Lasik on a Friday. On Monday I came to the office with perfect vision. Just follow drs post op orders.

Lasik is great! You’ll love it!
