Because with there is more fat, and believe it or not, it hurts the least.

The area is not weight bearing like buttocks, or moved frequently like the arm. This reduces bruising.

I think it is because that is where most people have the most abdundant amount of adipose tissue so you are less likely to accidentally inject it into muscle.

I’ve actually done research on this for a course I took once. There are different things to look at.

Pain, bruising, absorption.

The main reason for injecting into the abdomen however has been the belief that the adipose tissue in this area is best for the apsorption of heparin. bruising and pain can be quite varied in any site depending on the techinque used.

Also, it is recommended that insulin gets injected into the abdomen as well.

Coz there is more fat (usually) around the abdo, it hurts less and bruises less.
