Focus on prevention!
If you cut out refined sugars and flour from your diet and eat lots of raw fruits and vegetables you can avoid gum problems, not just because these foods are better for your teeth but they also help to maintain the proper acidic balance in your body, which boosts the immune system. In addition, they maintain the proper conditions in the mouth that reduce bacterial growth. If you don’t currently have gum disease, make sure you are eating as little refined food as possible and don’t drink sugary soft drinks, especially. If you think about what most people are eating & drinking in this country, it should come as no surprise their gums are rotting.
