Debatably, heparin is the only thing that’s kept our baby alive this long, so would it be foolish to stop using it after such a small amount of brown discharge? The unpleasant ache isn’t so different from a variety of other aches I’ve had over past weeks, but I’m really disturbed by the discharge - haven’t had that since about 15 weeks.

I can’t call the hospital, I don’t speak the local language - if the bleeding was continuing I’d call my hubby at work and get him to call for me. But I’m not sure what to do about the injections! Tomorrow I’ll get him to call them anyway, but it’s late evening now and I have to make my decision alone about the jab…

Please help if you can - I know a lot of people have to use Heparin or Lovenox during pregnancy these days. Sensible advice will be much appreciated!

I had a few miscarriages and finaly 1 doctor suggested testing for thrombophilia. The test showed I have a homozygous Mthfr mutation but the factor V and factor VIII results showed up “Normal”. I was told to take folic acid every day but I still had another MC afterward so someone suggested I may need Heparin- Someone else told me that if the factor 8 levels were normal I don’t need heparin. IM SOOOOOO CONFUSED- Can someone help me make sense of all this??????? (Ps I do have healthy children already)

I am scheduled for surgery on Friday. The nurse called me and told me that I would be given a pre-op shot of heparin. I have had 2 prior abdominal surgeries and have never had heparin. I do not know of one person who has had heparin before gallbladder surgery.

I was on Heparin for 10 months due to a DVT in my leg during pregnancy. I was told to expect some bleeding of the gums, but I also noticed that my teeth were becoming softer. By the time I was taken off the heparin my teeth had started to break…Is this a side effect from the heparin. I was told not to see a dentist while I was on the heparin, so I didnt and now Im not so sure I did the right thing. Can anyone help with this?

I gave myself an injection of 5000 units twice a day in the stomach.
Yes my blood clot dissolved and I have been off of the heparin since October
