the brain is running a little slow………i am throwing my friend a baby shower. I am on a very, very tight budget (i have 2 babies that i stay at home with and i am currently going through a divorce. so you can imagine how tight the budget is.). my friend asked me to have it at an all you can eat buffet here in town. since thats what she wanted i made the reservations and sent it out with the invitations. i’ve never thrown a baby shower before so i don’t know if i have to pay for everyone’s lunch? if i’m obligated to do so…i don’t know what to do cause i can’t afford it.

also, i bought her a cute baby sleeper, pacifier clip, and baby booties for her gift. i gave her a lot of really nice things that my babies no longer needed (high chair, wipe warmer, baby books, toys, etc…). she always buys my babies very nice gifts for holidays. i almost guilty, like i should buy more things for her gift. should i be feeling this way? any advice is appreciated!

I live in Northern Florida and I go to school here and my husband works up here as well. His co-workers are asking when the baby shower will be, but I hardly know any of them. If they really want to buy me stuff, fine. But I also have my friends and family in South Florida and they want me to throw a baby shower, too. How can I work this out? I can’t ask people to drive 500 miles in either direction just for a baby shower.

The baby is due in March, so I thought about having the N. Florida baby shower in January and the S. Florida baby shower in February. Is that too soon for a baby shower? Too late? How long before the baby is due should I throw a baby shower?

Is it worse to have a baby shower before or after Christmas?

Yes, I am throwing the one in North Florida for myself since I don’t know anyone very well up here. My best friend is in Georgia but my mom is handling the South Florida one.

heres the deal my friend is the baby daddy of the kid and the baby mama lives with her mom, (But her Mom is An adopted MOM not what so ever related to the baby or Nothing) her mom called the cops on her and now she is locked up now what i am wondering is who could the baby go with, because he and his parents wants his child, and another thing the baby mama brother lives there and he sells drugs,guns ect… in the house and to make matters worse the mom runs a daycare there and has no knowledge of it ..Also he and the baby’s momma have not ever went to court about rights cuz she would let him see the baby when ever he wanted!!!!

my sister-in-law had a baby last August 18, and seems over protective. The chaos began last Wednesday, when my brother came to my house with the baby. You see they changed his diaper, and gave them 3 oz. of milk. But after the milk the baby continued crying loudly and sucking his left hand intensely, my mom told them to give the baby another onze of milk, so they fed the baby. The kid didnt stop. So my mom told the parents to give the baby a pacifer, the both of them refused to do so, since the pediatrician said “no” (without any explanations) So today they brought the kid again. This time the mom of the kid hardly talked to us, and she told me they fed the baby in their house and changed him, in hopes he wouldnt wake up, since she would never give the baby a pacifer, even if we suggested it, and that because of the extra onze of milk the kid threw up on Wednesday 4 times. I recently found an article that says that pacifers help prevent “SIDs” Which side should I took?
